It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our loving father and husband, Wayne Arthur MacMullin, 67, of St. Joseph Street, and formerly of Emerald Street, Scotchtown, at home on May 15, 2009.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Roddy MacMullin and parents Rita (Aucoin) and Francis A. Campbell.
Wayne was a member of the Parish of St. Leonard, St. Michael Church, River Ryan. He was a proud and dedicated employee of Devco for 34 years and was a well respected supervisor during his days at Lingan Mine. Wayne was an avid musician, actively performing for the Royal Canadian Legion band in Sydney Mines for 22 years.Wayne experienced great joy from motorcycles, had an incredible zest for humour and a deep love for his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Marg (Cameron); daughters, Lynn (James) MacMullin-Cudmore, Calgary, Shauna MacMullin, Halifax; son, Glenn MacMullin, Toronto; sister, Lois (Ed) Pauk; and two nieces, Elaina and Lavana, Mississauga.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration for Wayne will take place 10 a.m. Thursday, May 21 in the Parish of St. Leonard, St. Michael Church with Fr. Doug MacDonald officiating. Cremation will follow with a luncheon to be held at St. Agnes Hall, Convent Street, New Waterford immediately after the funeral mass. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery at a later date.
