Passed away very peacefully, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at the Palliative Care Unit, Miller Centre, St. John\'s, on Saturday, May 16, 2009, Lindsay L. Hodder, of New Harbour, aged 75 years. Leaving to mourn; his loving wife, Bessie (nee Hiscock), sons; Michael and Kevin, two grandchildren; Owen and Eric, as well as a large number of other family members and friends. He was a member of the Masonic Order, having obtained the rank of Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies of the United Grand Lodge of England. He was also Past Master of St. George\'s Lodge No. 15, Union Lodge No. 28, First Colony Lodge of Installed Masters and Past Grand Master of the Society of United Fisherman. He was elected Life Honorary Member of the Society of United Fisherman in recognition of the many valuable services performed to the Order. He was also a valuable member of Mazol Shriners of Newfoundland and Labrador. Many special thanks for the tender care and compassion shown to Lindsay in his final days by the staff at the Palliative Care Unit, Miller Centre, St. John\'s. Also, many thanks to the staff at the Whitbourne Medical Centre and the Health Sciences Cancer Clinic. Resting at Warren\'s Funeral Home in Dildo, Sunday and Monday, May 17 and 18, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at 2 p.m. from All Saint\'s Church in Dildo. Cremation to follow with inurnment at a later date. Donations in Lindsay\'s memory may be made to the Health Care Foundation, 190 LeMarchant Road, St. John\'s, N.L.
