The death of Donald Hazen Grant of Saint John, husband of Helen Grant, occurred on Monday, June 28, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Saint John on October 8, 1926, he was a son of the late Alfred and Mary (Elward) Grant. Donald was a Veteran of World War II. He is survived by two daughters, Carol Ann Pelletier and Susan Ward (Morley), both of Saint John; one son, Robert Grant (Carolyn) of Barnesville; four grandchildren, Ryan Pelletier (Ashtin) and Regan Pelletier (Jessica), Stephanie Perry (Ben) and Jamie Ward; six great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Violet Dugay of British Columbia and Mary McLean of Darlings Island; and several nieces and nephews. Donald was predeceased by his first wife, Alice Grant and by one sister, Bernice Dugay.
Although there will be no visiting, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery Field of Honour.
