Louise Matilda Muise
76, New Waterford
It is with very deep sadness that the family of Louise Muise announce her passing away peacefully at home on July 4, 2010, with her daughters Susan and Diane by her side.
Born May 17, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Beatrice (Black) Whalen.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Louise was a member of the New Waterford Pensioners' Club as well as a life long member of the Army, Navy, Airforce, Unit 217, New Waterford. She enjoyed volunteering in her community as well as knitting, baking, playing cards and being in her garden. Most of all, she enjoyed listening to her scanner. Louise had incredible strength and was devoted to her family. She had a great sense of humour and joked to the very last days of her life.
We will miss her great smile, positive attitude and unconditional love. For her special friends, her passing will leave a void that will never be filled.
A very special thank you to Sadie, Julia, and Timmy.
Surviving are daughters, Diane (Tom) Regan, Winnipeg, Susan (Bam) Odo, New Waterford; sons, Louis (Bev) Muise, George (Debbie) Muise, Donald (Darlene) Muise, all of Winnipeg, Allen Rose, Ontario; brother-in-law, Robert Rose (Tina), New Waterford; sisters-in-law, Stella Cunningham, Ontario, Anna Drake, New Waterford; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Louise was predeceased by her husband, George Muise, longtime companion, Calvin Rose, brother, Donald Whalen.
Visitation will be held today (Monday, July 5) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral service will take place Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at 2 p.m. in Calvin United Church with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. Louise's remains will be taken to the church at noon on Tuesday. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery, Scotchtown, with a luncheon to follow at the Army, Navy, Airforce, Unit 217, New Waterford.
