The passing of Darrell Vance Thomas of Fredericton, NB, husband of Eldora (Nicholson) Thomas occurred on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 26, 1934 in Tracy, NB, he was the son of the late Willard and Fannie (Tracey) Thomas. He was a member of the Nashwaaksis Baptist Church and was actively involved in the church for many years. Darrell worked for the NB Power Commission as a Program Analyst. He enjoyed square dancing, loved to watch baseball and do puzzles; he enjoyed anything that kept his mind active. In addition to his wife, Eldora, Darrell is survived by his children, Vance and Janice Thomas both at home; grandchild, Emily Thomas; sister-in-law, Edna Thomas of Fredericton, NB and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his, sisters, Olive Lord, Lillian Harris and Adelaide Thomas; brothers, Roscoe and Bliss Thomas.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Nashwaaksis Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 1 pm with Rev. Kevin Culberson officiating. Interment will take place in Tracy Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday at 3:30 pm.
