It is with deepest regret the family of Patrick (Pat) Brian Cochrane, wish to announce his sudden passing June 26, 2010 at his home in Waldeck. Pat was born January 26, 1949 at Val Marie, Sk. He grew up on the family farm at Orkney, Sk, attending school at Orkney, Whitewater and Val Marie. He farmed with his Dad and three brothers, spent a short time in Calgary working at Calgary Packers but returned to his country roots of farming. He met and married the love of his life, Sherry on August 9, 1969. They were blessed with two daughters, Tammy and Patty, who were the delight of their Dad's life. He waited a long time to have boys in the family but got two of the best son-in-laws, he could have hoped for, Curt and Blain. His family was complete when his grandchildren arrived. Pat and Sherry farmed and then began a 30 year career with Sask Wheat Pool. He began in Orkney, then Canuck, on to Val Marie for 20 years, to Waldeck and into the new terminal in Swift Current where he retired from. After a short retirement, he returned to working full time at Action Auto Repair in Swift Current and up to the time of his passing was the Maintenance Man for the Village of Waldeck. Pat was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed curling, playing ball, hunting, ski-doing and was a dedicated Roughrider fan. He followed his girls around the country being their greatest fan in sporting events and all other activities. In later years had kept up the pace attending his grandchildren's activities. His family and many friends will fondly remember Pat's sense of humour. He could always lighten up a situation with his loud laugh and booming voice. He would always make time for a visit and loved to have gatherings of friends and family at his home. Pat was predeceased by his parents Albert and Dorothy and an infant grandson Jayden. He leaves to mourn and will be sadly missed by his wife of 40 years Sherry; his daughter Tammy (Curt) Purves and their children Chandra and Dawson; daughter Patty (Blain) Schneider and their children Ty and Kennedy; brothers, Perry (Carol), Kelly (Norma) and Tim (Ida); sister-in-law Debbie Laturnus (Jack); mother and father-in-law Norman and Reta Schick and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He will also be greatly missed by his companion, Lady. Interment Service took place at Waldeck Cemetery.
