Francis Aubin Delmas - Francis Delmas, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 6, at Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital. He showed tremendous strength and spirit in his battle to recover from his stroke.
Born on June 12, 1925 in Salles-sur-L'Hers, France, he was the son of the late Clementine (Pech) and Pierre Delmas. He came to Fredericton in 1954 where he meet his loving wife of 54 years Sally (Khoury) and has resided here until his death.
Francis never complained of any of his illnesses or pain and he always had a smile on his face. With his upbeat mood he would enjoy teasing others and having a chuckle at their expense. He was a keen minded entrepreneur. Francis was a very hard worker who devoted his life in providing for his family. He enjoyed having conversations with the many different people who stayed at the Town & Country Motel, the family home, and was happy to be able to converse in his mother tongue.
Francis cherished the visits with his grand children, Sebastian, Damian, Charles and Rikki Martina.
In addition to his wife, Francis is survived by three daughters, Mary, Gisele, and Jackie Doak (Rick); three sons, George (Vancouver), Andy (Leann), and Peter.
He is also survived by two sisters, Margo Blazy and Jean Belmas; one brother Louis Delmas, and several nieces and nephews all living in France.
Besides his parents, Francis was predeceased by brothers George and Elie, and sister Antoinette Marquié.
The family will receive condolences at Bishops Funeral Home on Sunday, July 11 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held at St. Dunstans Catholic Church on Monday, July 12 at 12:05 pm. Interment will take place at the Hermitage Cemetery on Woodstock Rd.
