Linna Pearl Somerville, wife of the late Nelson Somerville passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Palliative Care Unit Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1925 in Burtts Corner, NB she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Violet (Woodworth) Jones. Linna was an accomplished artist in watercolour, pencil, acrylic and calligraphy. Linna was the neighborhood barber, and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her loving daughters Melody McElman (Ron) of Saint John and Bonnie Hawkins (Edward) of Fredericton; step daughter Phyllis Savoy (Lionel) of Ottawa; step son Don Somerville of Toronto; cherished grandchildren Morgan Somerville (Donna), Lori Boone (Tim), Carolyn Williamson (Ralph), Donna Pratt (Myles), Linda Somerville, Jim Somerville and Steven Somerville; several great grandchildren; brother Clifton Jones (Jackie) of St. Charles; daughter-in-law Wendy Webb (Joe) of Saint John; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by son Randy Somerville, sister Winona Merrit; brothers Russell, Murchill and Wendell Jones.
Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held from Park Avenue United Church on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 1 p.m., followed by a reception in the church hall.
