Daniel William McFadgen, 82, of Glace Bay, passed away peacefully July 11, 2010 surrounded by loving family and friends.
After living life to the fullest, and with thoughts of the next fishing or hunting trip accompanied by the captain, surely in his mind. Dad finally bit off more than he could chew.
Born in Huntington Woods, Michigan on August 14, 1927. Son of the late Catherine (Bruce) and Edward McFadgen, loving father of Gloria (McFadgen) - MacDonald, Dolores (Bernd) Wehmeyer, Alberta, Daniel McFadgen, Quebec City. Grandfather to Bradley (Yuko) MacDonald, Halifax, Erin (Blake) MacDonald, Halifax, Mark (Aya) Wehmeyer Alberta, Ryan (Melissa) Wehmeyer, Ontario. Great-grandfather to Makiya, Sho Daniel Wehmeyer, Alberta and Liam Wehmeyer, Ontario. Survived by brother, Edward (Georgie) McFadgen and sister, Dolores Conohan.
Predeceased by his loving wife, Shirley; a sister, Margaret Rudy; brother, Harvey McFadgen; brothers-in-law, Dan Rudy and Cyril Conohan.
Visitation today, Tuesday July 13, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. at Curry's Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, followed by burial in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
