It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother and sister, on May 20, 2009. Elaine leaves to grieve her dear husband, David; her daughter, Karen (Brian) Timmons of Millcove, P.E.I.; her son, Steven (Naomi) Titus of Bridgetown, N.S. Mom is lovingly remembered by her five grandchildren, A.J., Michael, Matthew, Zachary and Jacob. They truly were the greatest joy of her life. Elaine was the eldest of 12 children and has left 10 brothers and sisters to mourn: Jennifer Westhaver, Ingonish; Leona Stockley, Ingonish; Geraldine (Calvin) Walker, Manitoba; Maria (Lonnie) Stockley, Dartmouth; Peter (Ginny), Sydney; Ruth (Steve) Cipak, Sydney; Angela (Bryan) Hines, Port Hawkesbury; Maureen (Perry) Snedden, Manitoba; Jacqueline (Dale) Hines, Sydney; and Paul (Joanne), Ingonish. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Harv and Honey (Doucette) Donovan; and her beloved twin brother, Leon. Mom loved many things in this life; singing and praising God, attending church, country/gospel music, playing SkipBo with the girls, playing with all her Pogo Pals, attending seniors' events, but most of all, her family. Our hearts are broken from missing her so much. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, May 24, 2009, in the Westport Baptist Church. Pastor David Ingersoll and Mr. Lou Outhouse officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. By request, family flowers only.
