It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of a dear husband, father, grandfather, Gregory Joseph McDonald which occurred Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Eldrid ‘Babe’ and Ellen (Petrie) McDonald.
Tutty was employed with Devco until his early retirement. He loved dogs and dog shows; and served as a trainer at the Cape Breton Kennel Club for the past few years. He was actively involved in breeding and the shows.
He is survived by his wife, Geri Lou; son, Stephen (Trish), Beaverbank; daughter, Tera (Darrell), Glace Bay; and special daughter, Diamond, at home; grandchildren, Lorissa, Darian, Sienna and Raiden; brother, Francis (Donna), Lower Sackville; mother-in-law, Emeline; brother-in-law, Shannon (Amanda) Strong; sister-in-law, Neila (Alan) Ferguson; nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.
Donations in Tutty’s memory are suggested to Palliative care or the Cape Breton Cancer Treatment Unit.
