Peacefully at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, with her loving husband and family by her side, of Jeanette Marie (DesRoches) Richard of St. Peter & St. Paul, in her 85th year. Beloved wife of Aubin Richard. Jeanette was a charter member of the Tignish Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Tignish C.W.L. Born in Wellington, she was the daughter of the late John and Katherine (Leclair) DesRoches. Lovingly remembered by her children Edward (Rita), St. Peter & St. Paul; Louis (Rose Marie), Deblois; Clarence (Jenny), Prince George, B.C.; Raymond, Toronto; Ralph (Ida), Harper Road; and Katherine Ann (Dennis) Fedyk, Prince George, B.C. She was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Tracey, Pamela, Dona Lee, Michael, Kathyln; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Riley, Miranda, Matthew; and by many nieces and nephews. Dear sister of Lucille (Colin) Farrell, Dartmouth, N.S.; Ardina (Orland) Esterbrooks, Fredericton, N.B.; Amelia (late Danny) McInnis, Bridgetown, N.S.; and Hillary (Betty) DesRoches, Manitouwadge, Ont.; and sister-in-law of Shirley (Reg) Arsenault, Lethbridge, Alta.; Annabelle (Arden) Ross, Prince George, B.C.; Beatrice DesRoches, Amherst, N.S.; and Theresa DesRoches, Dundas, Ont. She was predeceased by brothers, Alvin, Harold, Urban, Edward, Omer and Peter and by a sister-in-law, Marie DesRoches. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours commencing on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Monday morning from St. Simon and St. Judes Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Memorial donations to the Tignish Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. The Tignish council and St. Felix council of the CWL will hold a prayer service at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon at 1:45 p.m. The Ladies Auxiliary as well as legion members of the Tignish branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute service at the funeral home at 5:45 p.m.
