Pastor Ralph King

(September 4, 1912 - February 9, 2008). Pastor Ralph W. King was born in Lewisporte, September 4, 1912. At the age of 7 he moved with his parents to Bishops Falls. Feeling the call of God on his life he entered into Pastoral Ministry November, 1937 with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland, serving the following Assemblies, Bay Roberts, Birchy Bay, Springdale, North Harbour/Swift Current/Woody Island, New Chelsea/New Melbourne, Embree, Little Hearts Ease/Caplin Cove, Samson's Island, Campbellton, Glovertown, Stoneville, Glenwood and The Pentecostal Senior's Home at Clarkes Beach. He was also Camp Cook with Camp Emmanuel for a number of years from its beginning in 1947 to 1969. Pastor King retired from active ministry in 1974 and resided in Brown's Arm, then Laurenceton. After his wife Nora passed away, he went to live at Plasantview Manor, then Bayside Manor and then to Oram's Birchview Manor at Glovertown. Due to declining health two months ago he was moved to North Haven Manor from where he went home to be with the Lord. He is survived by his daughters: Olive (Ralph), Margaret, Elsie (Joe); sons: Walter (Violet), Ross (Ivy) and Donald (Geraldine); seventeen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law Wallace plus a large circle of friends. You will always be treasured by family and friends.
