Dorothy Louise (Lourie) Dober, 79, passed away peacefully on July 16th, 2010 at the Queen Elizabeth Health Sciences Centre in Halifax.
Born on May 10th, 1931, in New Jerusalem, Queens Co., New Brunswick, Dorothy is the daughter of the late Harold Robert Lourie, and Louise Maplet (Johnson) Lourie.
Dorothy lived a rich life as the beloved spouse of Paul, cherished mother of five children, dear friend, and centre of her extended family. She passed away as she lived, surrounded by the love of her husband, children, grandchildren, niece and nephew, and friends. She was the heart of a large family who adored and loved her.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Paul Dober; brothers, Raymond and Donald Lourie; children, Doris McWhorter, Brian Fillmore, Cathy Smart, Robert Fillmore, and Patricia Fillmore; grandchildren, Andrew and Kate McWhorter, Jeffrey and Julie Fillmore, Ashley and Kim Kovacs, Sarah and Bryce Fillmore, and Christian and Josh Emino; sons-in-law, Alan McWhorter and Don Vienot; daughters-in-law, Barbara and Alice Fillmore; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Colby Fillmore, and Josie Fillmore.
A celebration of life and time of sharing with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, July 20th, at 2:00 p.m., at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425).
At Dorothy's request, there will be no visitation and interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery Extension will be a private family event. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Remembrances may also be shared on line at www.bayviewfh.com.
