RAKETTI - Ervin Jeffrey Raketti aged 80 years of Shaunavon, SK, died on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at the Shaunavon Hospital and Care Centre following a lengthy illness. He was born at Shaunavon, SK, on January 1, 1929. He received his education at King Albert School in the Nummola District south east of Shaunavon. He farmed and ranched on the family homestead in the Nummola District. He had been a member of the Shaunavon Elks Lodge. In his younger years, he enjoyed curling and traveling with his friends. Ervin also enjoyed reading, horseback riding, wagon train trips, and attending rodeos. Ervin was predeceased by his parents, Jeffrey and Jennie Raketti and one sister, Lillian Wandler in August 2008. He is survived by one son, Ferland (Hannah) of Central Butte, SK; his grandchildren, Coty Raketti of Regina; Jade Raketti; and one great grandson Kole Raketti both of Moose Jaw; Kalyn Raketti and Josh Raketti of Climax; his sister, Viola Maddess of Shaunavon; his brother-in-law, Ralph Wandler of Sterling, AB; as well as by several nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held from Nummola Cemetery on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. with Funeral Celebrant Bernadette Schneider officiating. Pallbearers were Coty Raketti, Jade Raketti, Kalyn Raketti, Josh Raketti, Wes Maddess and Mervin Maddess. Interment took place at Nummola Cemetery.
