Trenton - Robert Wayne "Bob" Smith, 67. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Bob Smith, on July 16, 2010. He was born in New Glasgow on July 13, 1943. Bob will be fondly remembered by his many friends. He valued family and friends above everything else. Bob worked the past 25 years for Trenton Public Works. His early years were spent driving a truck for Ray Livingston, John W. MacKay, Bruce Nelson and Maritime Auto and Trailer Sales. He also spent time at Hawker Siddeley. Bob coached both minor ball and hockey, volunteered for Trenton Centennial Days and also served on the executive for Trenton Minor Hockey. Left behind is the love of his life, Arlene; their daughters: Chris (Jamie) Munro, Alberta; Leslie (Kevin) Hughes, Texas; sons: Robert (Betty); Chad (Darcy), both of Alberta; Jason (Shelly), Trenton; grandchildren: Allison, Samantha and Matthew Munro; Kelilah Hughes; Logan, Alex, Kolbie, Sierrah, Kali Smith; Melissa Patience; great-grandchildren: Ethan and Liam Munro; sisters: Bev (Jim) Richardson, Ont.; Janet (Roy) Armes, Ont.; aunts: Janet, Marg, Mary (Tud), Frances, Mary (Ace) and Florence. Bob was predeceased by his loving grandparents, Ethel and John Hugh Smith; his mother, Christina Ormrod; brother, Laurie "Duey" Ormrod; in-laws Fred and Annie Hughes; friend and brother-in-law, Dennis Davidson; uncles: Bud, Robert, Laurie, Will and Ace. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Monday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral mass 11 am Tuesday in Christ the King Roman Catholic Church with Father Gary MacPherson officiating.
