October 6/27 - July 21/2010. Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit, St. John's with his family he so loved. Predeceased by grandson Jason Masters (2003) and son-in-law Keith Thorne (2006). Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 53 years Joyce; sons: John Melendy (Susan), Terry Melendy (Frances), Wayne Melendy (Ruby); daughters: Marilyn Masters (Bruce) and Sandra Thorne; sisters: Dawn Winsor (Woodrow), Dulcie Mersereau (Edward), Ruby Crocker (Arthur), Betty Simmons and brother Lloyd Melendy (Judy). Will be forever missed and loved by his 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and a large circle of dear friends and family. Remains resting at Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.; 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.; 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Sunday at 2 p.m. from Grand Bank United Church. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Grand Bank. Donations in his memory may be made to Ronald McDonald House, St. John's or United Church Cemetery Fund, Grand Bank.
