CLAYTON, Jesse A., age 88, passed away peacefully at the Gables Lodge, Amherst, on Wednesday, May 20, 2009.
Born in Parkdale-Maplewood, NS, May 12, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Owen and Clara (Millbary) Foster.Jessie worked from her home as a hairdresser for many years in Lawrencetown, Anna Co, where she raised her family and made many lifelong friends. Jessie was a dedicated member of the Lawrencetown United Baptist Church. She loved being with her family, playing cards, knitting, crafts, cooking and especially shopping.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Wanda (Bert) Seely, Amherst; sons, Kevin (Marie-Eve), Middleton, Berton (Caroline), Greenwood and Richard (Shelley), Fredericton; 7 grandchildren, Jillian (Stephen), Jeffrey, Joey, Crystal, Claire, Jasmine and Courtney; 3 great grandchilren, Riley, Ella and Addyson; sisters, Ruby Hubley and Gladys Pattengale; nieces, Iris (Allan) and Viola (John) and numerous other nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her husband, Dean (1977), sisters, Venetia, Erdina, Elossie, Charlotte and Bessie and brothers, Henry, Gordon and Fred
Jessie's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, Amherst (902-667-8777). Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Lawrencetown United Baptist Church, Wednesday, May 27th, 2009, 2:00pm. Burial in the Fairview Cemetery immediately following the service. A special Thank You to the staff of the Gables Nursing Home, her roommate Vicki Lynn Chapman, Dr. Bobadilla and loyal friend Beryl Glover for her many visits.
