October 13, 1913 - July 25, 2010, formerly of Witless Bay, passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit, St. John's on Sunday, July 25, 2010. Rita was a very dedicated nurse, as is testified by many of her former patients. Rita fulfilled her dreams of nursing at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, Merchant Navy Hospital and the Sanatorium. Predeceased by her parents, Michael and Margaret, her brothers: Patrick, John, Lawrence and Michael Jr., and her sisters: Catherine and Bernadine. Leaving to mourn her sister, Sister Margaret, Presentation Convent, Avondale; sister-in-law Kay Smith; special niece Deborah (Terry); special nephew Brian (Delores); nephew Calvin (Trini); nieces: Kathleen (Hermann, deceased), Margaret (Dave); great-nephews and nieces Paul (Sheena), Shane, Shannon, Eryn, Bruce, Kyle, Chelsea and Jade. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Tuesday, July 27 from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Wednesday, July 28 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial from St. Patrick's Church, Patrick Street on Wednesday, July 28 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
