The death of Bernard Joseph Doucet occurred on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1922 in Bathurst he was the son of the late Joseph and Matilda Doucet. Bernard was an avid hunter, enjoyed horse racing, watching hockey and baseball and spending time with his family. He is survived by his children Bernie Doucette, Beaver Doucette (Cathy), Ann-Marie Price (Gary), Janet Boucher (Paul Amos) and Bob Doucette (Leta) all of Saint John; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; brothers Hector Doucet of Bathurst and Arthur Doucet of Montreal; sisters Rita Vollrath (Larry) and Bella Doucet both of California; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Albenia "Bing" Doucet.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Thursday, July 29, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 30, 2010 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
