Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, July 25, 2010, Mary Ellen Power of Carbonear; formerly of Low Point, age 80 years. Predeceased by, son: Aubrey; parents: James and Margaret; twin brother: Bill; sister: Dot Oliver. Left to mourn, husband: James; three daughters: Donna Power and Mona Power, both of Toronto, ON and Sharon (Gerald) Budden, Sop's Arm; four sons: Bruce (Anastatia) and Barry (Jenny), both of Toronto, ON, Chris (Dianne), Corner Brook and Wayne (Winnie), Bay de Verde; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two brothers: Joe (Irene) Power, Clarke's Beach and Ben (Anne) Power, Toronto, ON; three sisters: Lillian McCarthy, Toronto, ON, Marie (Anthony) Pinsent, Bellevue, Trinity Bay and Theresa (Will) Power, Lower Island Cove; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay. Fr. Pio Sumbilon conducted the funeral Mass on Thursday, July 29 at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay. Interment took place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Low Point. Donations in her memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
