CARR: Beatrice "Betty" Carr, passed peacefully on the morning of July 5, 2010 at the Swift Current Care Centre. Betty was born in Toronto, Ontario to John and Rose Reid on July 10, 1929. Betty had a twin sister, Bunny and two younger sisters, Lou and Joey. Betty married Alex in Toronto on April 19, 1947 and had one son, John Lawrence Carr, who now lives in Swift Current. Betty was employed by the Toronto Dominion Bank in Toronto until 1947 when Alex and Betty moved to Montreal. Alex was then on the sales staff of Remington Rand Ltd. Alex and Betty subsequently transferred to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, where Alex was a manager for Remington Rand until 1949. Alex and Betty then moved to the Moose Jaw and resided on the air base where Alex, now working for the City of Moose Jaw, became the manager of the municipal airport for the civilian aircraft service and facilities. In 1968, Alex and Betty moved back to Alex's home town, Kyle, Saskatchewan where they opened the Carr Agencies Ltd. to provide insurance products and vehicle registration services to the community. Alex passed away in 1991. A funeral service was held at 2:00 PM from the St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Swift Current on Thursday, July 8, 2010 with Reverend David Nevett officiating. The organist was Janet Neubauer. The interment service took place at the Clearwater Cemetery, Kyle District, SK. Culham/Bowers Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
