1923 - 2010 - Verna Perry, 86, of Moncton, NB, passed away on Saturday, July 31st, 2010, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital. Born in Middle Sackville, NB, she was the daughter of the late John and the late Leta (née: Nix) Estabrooks. Verna lived in Dieppe for the past sixty years but for the last few months, she made her new home at Sunset Village where the wonderful staff and friendly residence made her feel so special. Mrs. Perry was an avid bowler for many years. She was a member of Fairlanes Golden Jets and Golden Agers bowling teams. She was known to some bowlers as "Coach" because of the helpful tips she gave them on how to bowl. She also enjoyed playing crib, knitting, sewing, watching sports on TV, especially baseball and hockey games. She liked making puzzles, playing bingo and dominos at her new residence. Mrs. Perry was a very kind mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who leaves one daughter, Sharon (Ross) Burnett of Dieppe; one son, George (Paulette) of Dartmouth, NS; two brothers: Austin (Barb) Estabrooks of Sackville, NB and Don Estabrooks of Amherst, NS; five grandchildren: Sean, Shelly, Michelle, Brent and Scott and also two great grandchildren: Addison and Rylee, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George in 2009; one son, Hugh Clifford in 1944 and also by two brothers: Carmen and Randal.
