It is with great sadness that the family of Dana Vail announce his death at his home on Sunday, August 1st, 2010 at the age of 52. Born in Lower Jemseg on October 27th, 1957, he was the son of the late Sterling and Lena (Moss) Vail. Dana is survived by his wife of 32 years, Shelley; sons, Paul and Sterling of Geary and Gregory (Deborah) of Hatfield Point; daughters, Trish-Ann (Noel McIntyre) and Lena (Thomas Mayfield) of Geary; grandchildren, Tyler Dana, Alyssa and Trent; brothers, Garnet of Minto, Wendal of Mill Cove, Garfield (Sheila) of Rusagonis and Randy of Mill Cove; sister, Wanda Thorne of Jemseg; in-laws, Robert and Violet Cummings; brothers-in-law Rocky (Geneva), Wayne (Cynthia) and Michael (Ann) Cummings; sisters-in-law, Darlene (Mike) Richard, Wanda (Regan) Vail and Debbie (Danny) St. Thomas and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his nephew R.J. Vail; uncle, Harold Moss; Aunts Marie Ferris and Violet Long; cousin, David Moss; brother-in-law, Willis Allen and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Dana was a loving husband, wonderful father and grampy and the Montreal Canadians biggest fan.
Visitation will be held at the United Pentecostal Church, 4 Lauvina Road, Geary, on Wednesday, August 4th, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, August 5th from the church with Rev. Mark Noel officiating assisted by Rev. Robert Foster. Interment will be in the Preston Carr Cemetery.
