The death of Joan Parlee, wife of the late Clair Parlee, occurred on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born on March 29, 1936 at Fredericton to the late Myron and Eva (Peacock) Hazelwood. Joan was a meek and gentle woman who demonstrated a spirit of humility. Her thoughtful and loving ways touched all who knew her. Joan put others first and this was especially true as a Wife, Mother, Nanny and Grammie. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and volunteered at the North End Food Bank. Joan is survived by her five children: Myron (Maria) of Moncton, Wanda Nelson (Paul) of Grand Bay-Westfield, Myles (Sue) of the Kingston Peninsula, Dave of Halifax, NS and John (Crystal) of Hampton; brother Keith Hazelwood; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one niece and one nephew. Besides her husband and parents, Joan was predeceased by her sister, Jean Farnham.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. The funeral service will be held from Main Street Baptist Church, on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 1 PM. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
