
Carmel Hickox
Carmel Ann Hickox of Amherst passed away peacefully two days before her 68th birthday, following a lengthy, yet courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Belledune, NB on August 3, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Audrey (Doucet) Sauveur.
Carmel enjoyed fishing, spending time at the camp, birdwatching and spending time with her grandchildren and her cat, Harley.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Ivan, her daughter, Diana Legere of Amherst, grandson, Evan Reginald, her son, Michael Legere of Amherst, granddaughter, Jillian Carmel of Calgary.
Carmel is also survived by brothers Bernie (Yvonne), Charlie (Shirley), Art (Gloria) and Donald "Ducky" (Pam) all of Amherst, sisters Betty (Jim) Nelson, Pat (Ron) Robinson and Rose (Rick) Doucette and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Reginald Legere, and two brothers Paul and Edward.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be no visitations.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 2:30 pm from Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
Memorial donations in Carmel's memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst.
