It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gertrude S. Burton announce her passing at the Long Term Care Facility in Corner Brook on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the age of 81 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters: Yvonne (Gary Gillingham) of Corner Brook, and Cathy (Terry MacDonald) of Nova Scotia, her sons: Pasco (Irene) of Ontario, Oliver (Linda) of Alberta, Craig of Alberta, Cluney (Debbie) of Ontario, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother Frank (Iris) Skiffington of Musgrave Town, nieces, nephews, and a large number of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Pasco, son Todd; parents Cluney and Mary Hannah Skiffington; brothers Adam, Earl, Howard, Raymond, Oliver, Elias; sisters: Yvonne, Adela, Floella Coles, Edna Lethbridge and Betty Greening. Arrangements have been entrusted to Country Haven Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel, 167 Country Road on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kim Waite officiating. Interment to take place at a later date in Lethbridge, NL. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
