On July 30, 2010, Edward Joseph Norbert Cyr, 70 years, passed away after a courageous battle at the Union Hospital in Moose Jaw, SK with family at his side. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Colette Ducharme, children Bryan, Corissa, Justine, Sierra; Patsy (Richard) Acott, children Jesse, Janelle, Breanna; Susanne (Ken) Cyr-Philipchuk, children Kirsten, Kelsey, Carson, Jake; Sandra Cyr (Steve Perera), son Adrien; and their mother Armella Cyr. Ed is also survived by his brother Ronald (Dorothy)Cyr, sisters Cora (Camille) Doucet, Norma (Alcide) Pitre and sister-in-law Jeaninne Cyr, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and family, all of Bathurst, NB. Ed was predeceased by his parents Alyre and Beatrice, brothers Melvin and Harold, and nephews Michel Doucet, Gary Cyr and son-in-law Michael Ducharme. Ed was born on January 20, 1940 in Bathurst, NB where he was raised. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1957, served for 35 years, and retired in 1992. He was also a long standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagles. Friends and family are invited to a prayer vigil at W. J. Jones & Son, 106 Athabasca St. E., on Wednesday August 4, 2010 at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday August 5th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Parish, 1064 3rd Ave NW with Father Rick officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 279 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, SK, S7K 2H8 or to the Diabetes Association, 917 Albert St., Regina, SK, S4R 2P6.
