It is with great sadness that the family of the late Violet Cecilia Companion announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on May 26, 2009 at the age of 77 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Bill (Marion), Fred, Mike (Carol Ann), Mary (Willie), Gerald (Cheryl), Gail (Larry), John (Kathy) and Brian (Christine); brothers: James (Laura), Gordon (Maxine), Lawrence Jr. (Judy) and Walter (Joy); sisters: Marie, Sadie (Philip), Madeline and Gloria; sisters-in-law: Jean (Melvin) Tipple, Mary (Frank) Batt, Gerald (Susan) Companion; 24 grandchildren, 18 great- grandchildren, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her husband, Lawrence (March 2007); her parents, William and Edna Wells and brother, Gerald Barnes. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, May 28, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Friday, May 29, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. from Most Holy Redeemer Cathedral, Mount Bernard Avenue, with Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are gracefully accepted or donations may be made to the Cancer Society or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
