It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Reta Olive Catherine Larsen. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the Victoria Hospital surrounded by love. Reta was born on June 29, 1932 in Rural Prince Albert. She met Henry Larsen in 1952 at a dance in Shellbrook, SK and they were married on June 29, 1957 in Prince Albert, SK. Reta and Henry lived on their farm in Rural Prince Albert. She loved to bake, cook, gardening and most of all loved to play her guitar and ride her horses. Reta looked forward to visits with friends, family and especially enjoyed the time with her grandchildren. Left to mourn Reta is her husband of fifty-three loving years Henry; her two children David Larsen of Saskatoon and Ken (Sheri) Larsen of Prince Albert; her five grandchildren Jessica, Robyn & Nathan of Saskatoon and Amanda and Brittany of Prince Albert; her special family friends Paulette (Roy) Olexyn and Edgar Reichle of Prince Albert; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Martin and Vitaline Welden; her brothers Ed Welden, Bill Welden, Louis Weldon, Martin Welden, John Welden and Albert Welden and her sisters Alice Atkinson and Margaret Vancoughnett. A Celebration of Reta's Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Reta and Henry's farm south of Prince Albert, SK. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 - 3rd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8 or to Alzheimer Association of Saskatchewan, 301 - 2550 - 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Drew Gray, Funeral Director.
