BURKE, Joseph Berchmans - Passed peacefully away after a brief illness in the presence of his loving family at the L.A. Miller Center Palliative Care Unit on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, Joseph Berchmans Burke, aged 87 years, formerly of Flatrock. Predeceased by his wife Kathleen (Gibbons) on August 3, 2007, parents James and Margaret, brothers Bill and Ned, and brother-in-law Joseph Parsons. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories daughter Brenda and son Ian with whom he resided; daughter Carol Anne (Don Dunphy), son Brian (Jean), daughters Sheilagh (Frank Linegar), son Sean and "special daughter" Kimberley; grandchildren Frankie, Nicole, Adam and Alex. He also leaves his sister Kathleen Parsons, brothers John (Celine), Tom and Jim; sisters-in-law Sister Helen Bonia, Ita Bonia and brother-in-law Jim Bonia. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, Torbay. Visitation Wednesday from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. - 12 noon, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Friday, August 6 at 9:30 a.m. from Mary Queen of Peace Church, Torbay Road. Interment to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Flatrock. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
