Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, May 24, 2009, Bertrum Ash of Hant's Harbour, age 85 years. Leaving to mourn wife Laura, Harbour Lodge Nursing Home; three daughters Peggy (Ted), Newmarket; Patsy (Rick), Port Credit; Rona, Mount Pearl; son Newton (Joan), Hant’s Harbour; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; three step-daughters Annie, Lillian (Hayward), all of Victoria and Muriel (Wilfred), Hant’s Harbour; two step-sons Gideon (Victoria), Hant’s Harbour; Ronald (Jeannette), Paradise; two brothers Hubert (Annie) and Wilfred (Muriel) Hant’s Harbour; two sisters Lizzie White and Elsie Reid, Winterton; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Green’s Funeral Home, Winterton. Visiting hours Tuesday 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Salvation Army, Winterton. Interment in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Hant’s Harbour.
