Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit on Thursday, August 5, 2010, in the presence of her children, Helen Squires, age 75. Predeceased by her parents Augustine and Margaret Gibbons, brothers Gus and Hilary, sister Florence and children Anthony and Mary. Leaving to mourn her loving husband Michael, children: Judy Downton (Wayne), Michelle Davis (Randy) and Hilary (Jeanette); grandchildren: Deirdre and Joshua Squires, Chris and Nicole Downton, Dennis Best; great-grandchildren: Scarlett and Rowen; sister-in-law Margaret Gibbons; niece and nephews Peggy, Stephen and Sean Gibbons and special friends Eleanor Dalton and Shirley, Graham and Ashley Lucas as well as a large circle of family and friends. Special thanks to Drs. Sharon Ripley and Erin Powell. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Caul's Funeral Home on LeMarchant Road, Friday, August 6 from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 7 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Patrick's Church, Patrick Street. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation. Interment in the family plot, St. Vincent's, at a later date.
