It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ezekiel Gough announce his passing on Monday, August 9, 2010 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, at the age of 85 years. Ezekiel was born in Elliston, Trinity Bay, on September 12, 1924, the son of George and Zellah Gough. He was one of five brothers and two sisters. Ezekiel served in the British Army, the 59th Newfoundland Heavy Regiment, Royal Artillery. He joined the service in December 1940 and was one of four brothers to serve. He landed on the beaches of Normandy shortly after D-Day, and fought through France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories: his wife, Vida; sons: George (Patsy), Kitchener; David, Brighton; Ezekiel (Shirley), Hughes Brook; Glen, Corner Brook; his daughters: Dallas (Gerald), Bonne Bay; Enid (John), Seaforth; Debbie (John), Port Hope; Lisa (Kevin), Seaforth; brother, Darryl (Fay), Gander; sister, Molly Sanger, Elliston; extended family: Shawn (Robin), Jodi (Mike), Michelle (Rod), Jamie (Samantha) and their children; 18 grandchildren, five great-grand- children and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife Ethel and daughter Eileen in 1994, grandson David, brothers: John, Ralph, Sylvester, Cecil and sister Elizabeth Sarah Westguard. Visitation will take place at St. James Anglican Church, Lark Harbour, on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church with Reverend Nellie Thomas officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery at a date to be announced. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or a donation to a charity of one's choice.
