Erma Jean (nee MacKinnon) MacLauchlan - Erma MacLauchlan passed away peacefully at the Whisperwood Villa on Sunday, August 8, 2010. Erma was predeceased by her beloved husband J. Elmer MacLauchlan in 1995. Born in Canoe Cove P.E.I., on February 23, 1927 to the late Ewen Charles and Jean Stewart (MacEachern) MacKinnon. She was the eldest of six children. Erma is survived by her only daughter Diana Leitch (George Smith) of Saint John, N.B., her grandson James "Jody" Leitch (Kate Warden), brothers Melvin (Vaunda) MacKinnon of North River, Keith MacKinnon of Saskatoon, Sask., sister-in-law Laura MacLauchlan and brother-in-law Everett Gillespie both of Charlottetown, sister-in-law Beverley MacKinnon of Hamilton Ont., her very special friend Tom Hilton of Charlottetown, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Colin Leitch, grandson M. Andrew "Andy" Leitch, her sisters Mary Gillespie and Irene Gillis, and brother Lester MacKinnon.
Resting at the Cutcliffe Funeral Home from where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the family plot in the Peoples Cemetery.
