VATERS, Doris W. (nee Penney) — Passed peacefully away at the Glenbrook Lodge on October 4, 2008 age 88 years. In the presence of her daughters Maxine and Ann, formerly of Salmon Cove, Conception Bay. Predeceased by her husband Maxwell Vaters. Left to mourn daughters Maxine Ivory and Ann Luscombe, five grandchildren Patricia (Robert), Craig and Richard (Linda), Kelly and William (Amanda), eight great-grandchildren Ashley, O’Neil, Amber, Skylar, Kruiz, Tyrell, Bailee and Ava Jane Seymour, two sisters-in-law Ann Osmond, Georgia White. Special nephew and wife Maxwell and Maureen Butt. Special cousin Lima Kelloway Spurrell, old neighbours of Prestwick Place and a special thank-you to the staff of Glenbrook Lodge. Doris will also be fondly remembered by her many friends at St. James UCW, and remembered for her years of volunteer service at the Canadian Red Cross. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Monday from 10 a.m. 12 noon, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10-12 noon. Funeral Service to take place from St. James United Church on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
