Doris Geraldine Dickson - 78, of Kentville, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010 in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in East Village, Colchester County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Peter and Jessie (Rushton) O'Brien. She had been employed for a number of years in the Housekeeping Department of Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. She was a member of both the 50-Plus and Nifty Fifty senior's groups and a member of the Kentville Hobby Crafters. She is survived by two daughters, Dianne Lindsay, New Minas; Beverly Liong, British Columbia; a son, Michael (Linda) Lindsay, Germany; four sisters, Doreen Wark, Ontario; Norma Buckler, Ontario; Eileen Alexander, Masstown, Colchester County; Margaret Spence, Truro; three grandchildren, Katherine Liong, Krista Liong and Christopher Lindsay; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six brothers, Chesley, Ralph, Peter Jr., Arnold, Gerald and Leo. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2010 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2010, Reverend Devin Johnstone and Reverend Doctor Judith Saunders officiated. Burial took place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. Family flowers only, by request.
