Donald James Stafford passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving wife Georgina, his beloved children, Deborah Losier, Sandy (Jason) Morrell, Natalie, Patrick, Paulette, Nathan, Amie, and Katie, his beloved grandchildren, Tiana (Joe), Emilee, Allison, Genevieve, Madeleine, and Oliver. Also, his beloved great grandchildren Trinity and Annabella. His sister Jean (John) Burns and his Uncle Tim O'Leary. His life-long friends Nelson (Joanne) Spencer, Barry (Ginny) Hunter. Born in Saint John, Donald is predeceased by his grandparents, Parents Frank and Mary (O'Leary) Stafford and Aunts and Uncles from both the O'Leary and Stafford Families, his beloved niece Paula Marie Burns. Donald Stafford was employed by the NBCC Saint John for 27 years and taught Cabinet-making. He was employed by Saint John Shipbuilding for 10 years as a Joiner and Journeyman. Don's family was proud of his accomplishments and endeavours over the years. He represented the 10th Saint John Holy Trinity Scout Troop at the 9th World Jamboree at Sutton, Coldfield, Warwickshire, England in 1957. Don shared his gift for Carpentry and his Instructing Skills to support the Girls Entering Technical Trades Program at the NBCC, 2000. Don trained his sporting/hunting dogs and shared his carpentry gift by constructing dog trials equipment for the USPCA Region 9 PDI Trials in 1995. Don was proud and supportive of his children's accomplishments and endeavours; academic, sporting, and social. A special thank you to the staff of the 4BS and Palliative Care Units. You were our angels during our most difficult time. Don is resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701) Visiting at Fallsview on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday from Our Lady of the Assumption at 12 noon.
