The passing of Hazel Aletha Hay, wife of the late Donald Hay occurred Saturday, August 14, 2010 at her home. Born February 5, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Rebecca (Kerr) Gullison. She was a member of the Hillcrest United Church and was a life member of the Women's Institute and the Williamsburg UCW. Hazel greatly enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting. Hazel is survived by her son, Garnet (Shirley) Hay of Williamsburg, NB; two daughters Marie MacKay and Alice Kirkpatrick both of Fredericton, NB; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; two daughter in laws Velma Hay of Williamsburg, NB and Joan Hay of Fredericton, NB. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by two sons, Ferdinand and Owen Hay; daughter Connie O'Leary; three brothers Walter, Charles and Ernest Gullison; six sisters Berla Jeffrey, Myrtle Humble, Nadine Dorcas, Mable Hay, Reeta MacLean and Mable Corey; son in laws Tom Kirkpatrick, Glen MacKay and Michael O'Leary and several grandchildren.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Dr., Fredericton, NB, on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Hillcrest United Church, Stanley NB on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Murray MacFarlane officiating. The burial will take place in the Williamsburg Community Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of the charity of the donor's choice.
