Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park on May 27, 2009 in the presence of his family and friends, Anthony Nemec, age 86 years. Predeceased by his first wife Dorothy (nee Decker) and parents: Joseph and Myrtle. Former professor of Civil Engineering for 40 years at Memorial University, US Army Veteran stationed at Fort Pepperal, a graduate of Michigan State University with a BSE in 1954 and Life Member of the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador. Left with fond and loving memories, his wife Ada; son Carl (Brenda), Alberta Beach, AB; daughter, Karen, Ajax, ON; grandchildren Lyle, Sonya, Lawana and Brian; ten great-grandchildren; special family friend Doreen Martin; his caregiver Ann Andrews and many other friends, colleagues and relatives in Canada and the United States. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at the Anglican Cathedral on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery followed by a reception at Carnell’s Funeral Home Visitation and Reception Centre, 1045 Topsail Road, Mount Pearl.
