Sarah Margaret (Sutherland) Lewis, 94, a resident of the Cove Guest Home, formerly of 47 Broadway, Whitney Pier, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at the Cove.
Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late John William and Catherine Margaret (Hill) Sutherland.
Margaret was a member of St. Alban’s Anglican Church, Whitney Pier.
Surviving are her sons, Ron (Arabella), Ottawa, Ont. and Robert (Marie St. Croix), Corner Brook, Nfld.; sisters, Christina Surrette, Baddeck, Mary Marr, St. Catharines, Ont. and Hattie Moffatt, Calais, Maine; daughter-in-law, Gloria Lewis; grandchildren, Stephanie Lewis, Ottawa, Tracy Nadine (David MacFadzean) and Michael Lewis; great-grandson, Lucas Darwin Lewis-MacFadzean.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Charles Robert (1985) and brothers, Neil and Daniel.
There will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Monday 11 a.m., with Rev. Brenda Drake officiating. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
