1926 - 2010 - Kay Irene McCabe of Pro Tem Health Centre, 2069 Mountain Road, passed away very peacefully on August 23, 2010 at the age of 84. Born in Newcastle, NB on January 16, 1926 she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Major) McCabe. Kay retired in 1985 after 33½ years employed with the Department of labor and Human Resources. After retiring Kay gave of herself to her family and friends volunteering for everyone who needed a drive for appointments, groceries, friendly visit or a good chat on the phone. Kay will be sadly missed by her brother John "Jack" of Moncton. In addition she will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Agnes (John) Wonacott, Edith McCabe, Margaret (Raymond) LeBlanc and Marie (John) Gillis and two brothers, Robert McCabe and Harold McCabe.
In lieu of visitation a graveside service will be celebrated on Friday, August 27, 2010 at Fairhaven Memorial Gardens at 1:00 pm with Fr. Allison Carroll officiating. We, her family extend our gratitude to the nurses and staff of Pro Tem who over the years have given Kay Excellent care and provided her with a loving home.
