You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived
David Harkins 1959
It seems like yesterday that Henry MacKinnon left this wonderful world. The summer has allowed us the time to reflect on the loss of both Grace and Henry who shared a meaningful life together. On behalf of the entire family we would like to express our appreciation for the support we received. The food, flowers, cards, and calls were greatly appreciated along with the donations to the heart & stroke, the cancer society, diabetes, and many other important charities. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Victoria Haven Nursing Home who made a home for Grace following the death of her beloved Henry. The staff made her feel warm and comfortable for the next stage of her life and she could not have asked for a lovelier room mate in Blanche Clark. We also want to thank Reverend Finlayson and the choir of Knox United Church along with soloist Nancy Whitney for providing Grace such a wonderful send off. The memories we have of Grace & Henry will remain in our hearts forever. They are resting together under the eyes of god in St Mary's Cemetery in Glace Bay.
God bless!!
Sincerely,
The family of Grace Read
