Constance Mildred (Henderson) Stinson (wife of the late John McPherson Stinson), passed away peacefully in her home at Riverdale Manor, in Hampton, just before sunset on August 27th. She was 89 years of age. Connie is survived by her daughter, Judy Hughes (John) of Moncton, her three cherished granddaughters, Kathryn Hughes of British Columbia, Stephanie Hughes of Nova Scotia, and Serrah Hayden of Ontario, her nephew David Henderson and niece Diane Palmer. Connie was predeceased by her husband, John, sons, Eric Richard (Rick) Stinson and George William Stinson, and her brother William (Bill) Henderson. Connie was a secretary for J.K. Irving in Saint John for over 25 years. Following her retirement in 1986 she and John moved to Hampton. Here she became an active volunteer for the local branch of the Red Cross and led the prayer group at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church for several years with dedication and humility. Connie was a beloved grandmother, mother, sister, and a source of inspiration and guidance to many who cherished her friendship. She dedicated her life to the service of her family and community, and will be remembered for her gentle healing touch, her talent with horses and the loving spirit she shared with all she met. Connie found joy and strength in her Christian faith and lived with the grace of the Lord everyday. Her family wishes to thank Krissy and those at Riverdale Manor in Hampton for the loving care and community they provided to Connie in the last months of her life.
A funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Main Street, Hampton on Monday, August 30th, at 11:00 a.m., with reception to follow. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Paul's Anglican Church, which held a special place in her heart.
