It is with deep sadness that the family of Bernice Kraus announces her peaceful passing at Providence Place, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the age of 97. Bernice was born on August 26, 1911 in Mazenod, Saskatchewan. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from the General Hospital, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in 1934. Bernice married the love of her life, Otto Kraus, on November 2, 1935. Bernice nursed for many years in Mossbank ending as Matron of the Hospital. She also nursed in Gravelbourg, Assiniboia and Bengough. Predeceased by her parents Walter & Betsy Sadlemyer and her sixteen siblings, husband Otto Kraus (50 years), daughter-in-law Lynn Kraus, son-in-law George Hicks and grandson Wesley Hicks. Survived by her daughters Dolores Hicks & Family, Fran (Lyle) Helland & Family, son Grant (Loretta) & Family. She leaves to mourn eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews scattered across the country. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice. In keeping with Bernice's wishes, a private family service will take place at Prairie Memorial Columbarium.
