Shirley Winnifred Knee
1931-2010
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Shirley Knee on August 5, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Jim; her sister, Eva; daughter, Claudia Friesen (Jim) of Parksville, BC; granddaughter, Melanie, of Victoria, BC and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition, she is survived by her husband's family, Judy Coates (Harry) of Codroy Valley, NL, Jim Knee (Molly) of Conception Bay South, NL, Carol Blacklock (Dave) of New Maryland, NB; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Florence and Albert Hossack; her first husband, Claude Fowlow, and her sister, Ann. Visitation was held at McAdam Funeral Home on Sunday, August 8th, 2010 from 4-6 pm. The funeral service took place at the Christ Church Cathedral on Monday, August 9th, 2010 at 11:00 am with The Very Rev. Keith Joyce officiating, assisted by The Ven. John Sharpe. A reception followed the service in the Cathedral Memorial Hall. Interment will be held at a later date in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Lung Association of New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor's choice.
