Mary Margaret Jack, 56, Hillside Road, Marion Bridge, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Kelligrews, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of Newman and the late Mary Fagan.
Besides her father, she is survived by her husband and best friend, Bill; sisters, Sharon (Pat) Howlett, Michelle (Gerry) Warford and Carol (Douglas) Harris; Bill’s children, Heather (Bryan Reid), Tatamagouche, Kathy (Martin) Trainer, Truro, Rod (Krissy) Jack, Byemoor, Alberta, Linda, Maureen and Elaine, Truro; chosen family, Linda, Clayton, Emmie, Morgan and Krista Bartlett; nieces and nephews, Gloria, Darryl, Deidre, Thomas and Christine; grandchildren, Shaun, Michael, Jesse, Sydney, Emma, Daniel, Heather, Lindsay, Jesse, Rhianon, Keelin and Michelle.
Since early 2007, Mary has battled cancer and throughout this time all her friends were with her. I could never thank them all, but since day one, my constant support has been Linda Bartlett, Kathy Trainer, Heather Jack, Gladys Lever, Caroline MacIntyre, Gwen Wheaton and Betty Gillis. I would also like to thank Dr. Praful Ghatage, Tom Baker, Cancer Clinic, Calgary, who was my doctor and friend and who always gave me hope, Dr. A. Mahmoud-Ahmed, Radiologist, Cape Breton Cancer Clinic, Dr. Lisa Gillis, Palliative Care and the nursing staff who cared so much.
Mary loved her husband, her life with Bill on the Mira, her family and friends.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Union Presbyterian Church on Sunday at 2 p.m., with Pastor Kevin Richardson officiating. Interment to be held in Newfoundland at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Union Church Memorial Hall Fund in Albert Bridge
