Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, Sophie M. Pelley of St. John's, formerly of Carbonear, age 74 years. Predeceased by parents John and Gertrude, brothers Arthur, Silas, Wilbert "Bill", Malcolm, Frank and sister Rose Joseph. Leaving to mourn one brother Edward Pelley, Carbonear; three sisters: Florence "Floss" Butt, Kitchener, Ont., Annie (Clifford) Garland and Jean Clarke, both of Carbonear; sister-in-law Grace Pelley, Corner Brook, also a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear with visitation hours on Friday, September 3 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 4 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, September 4 at 2:30 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Interment in the Gospel Hall Cemetery, Carbonear.
