MR. ALBERT “BERT†PARTRIDGE passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Bert was born in Worcester, England to Beatrice (Leach) and Edward Partridge. They immigrated to Canada when he was four years old. The family started out in Montreal moving to try their hand at farming in Indian Head and settled into farming in Edgely. Bert met Luvinia in Fort Qu'Appelle when she was working at Fort San. He charmed her into marrying him November 10, 1947. They lived for a short time in Craik, settling in Moose Jaw in 1951 to raise their boys. Bert had a long career in highway construction. He worked for thirty years with Ramsey Bird Construction and finished his working career with Cypress Paving. Upon retirement he enjoyed many road trips and camping with Luvinia. He loved spending time with his coffee buddies right up until he was unable to make it there. Predeceased by his parents, Beatrice and Edward; brothers: Henry and George and twin brother and sister, Arthur and Freda, Bert is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Luvinia, his two sons Leonard and Gerald (Karen); granddaughters: Whitney and Mackenzie. A private family Interment will take place. A Memorial Tea in Bert’s memory will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2009; 2-4p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Family Centre, 262 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Memorials to the Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658, S6H 7K7 would be appreciated. In living memory of Bert, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
