September 23, 1912 – June 2, 2009. Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009, Emily Burgess residing at the Shag Rock Manor, formerly of Whiteway, aged 96 years. She is predeceased by her parents: Annie and James Hollett, husbands: John Dicks and Jesse Burgess, grandsons: Wade and John Pollett and brother George Hollett. She leaves to mourn with precious memories, daughters: Rosie (Bramwell) Pollett, Annie (Corwin Skinner, deceased) and son Clyde (Lorraine) Burgess, as well as 16 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 32 great–great-grandchildren. She is also lovingly remembered by two brothers: Llewellyn Hollett and Albert (Dorothy) Hollett and brother-in-law, Norman Dicks; as well as a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo, Wednesday, June 3rd. 2 to 10 p.m. Thursday, June 4th. 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday, June 5th. 10 a.m. to 12 noon The funeral service will be held from St. Andrew’s Church, Whiteway, on Friday, June 5th. at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Andrew’s United Church Cemetery, Whiteway.
